20th Feb 2020 St. Nicholas Messy Church

20th February Half-term Messy Church

45 children and 75 adults enjoyed a morning of making 'Daniel and the Lions' story cards, angels, Maothering Sunday cards, playing games, singing songs, and listening to the story of Daniel in the Lion's den, before munching on hot-dogs, cakes and fruit, before going out to brave the weather on the way home. So many storms this year!

It's always lovely to see children sharing special times at the craft tables.

As usual, the playdough table was very popular. The children love it, and many aren't allowed to have it at home because it's messy. This time, they made angels, to go with the theme of the morning, 'Angels and Lions'. One of our volunteers shared a thought with us..."If that's what angels look like, I'm not sure if I want to go to heaven!!

It's not all about crafting, and some prefer to test their circus skills, or play a game, like 'Connect 4'. Age doesn't come into it!

It's always good to have the children participate in the worship time, especially to read the prayers.

So many commented that they had had a lovely time, and would see us next time. One young girl had a major tantrum, because she didn't want to go home!

The next session is on Good Frdiay at 10am.
