Friday 1st June 2018: Organ Recital at St Nicholas, performed by Dougal Smith from Swanton Morley.
Dougal introduces his programme at the beginning of the Recital
Dougal's skill at our marvellous church organ was evident, as he played music from Royal Weddings, with the earliest being Louis XV in 1725. The range from the 'atmospheric. meditative' music by Basil Harwood, through to the rousing music of Mendlessohn's 'Wedding March from Midsummer Night's Dream', gave variety to a splendid programme.. Three keyboards for hands and one for feet! The expertise of these organists is phenominal and is to be admired.
Apologies for the position of the programme, but the image refuses to go to landscape mode!
The next Rectal is on Friday 8th June, when Jo Richards, from Ranworth South Walsham will play 'Something German-French-Borrowed-Blue.' Recital begins at 1pm and is preceded by refreshments at 12.40pm.
