St. Mary's Church, East Bilney
The Parish of Beetley and East Bilney
One Parish Two Churches United in Worshipping God

There have been many changes throughout the history of the parish – but the congregation remains determined to keep the ‘rumour of God’ alive in all the centres of population.
The churches themselves are pretty buildings, and worship is held in one or the other every week. Coffee is served after the service, so there is a chance to exchange news, discuss the sermon and make plans.
Service times are:
1st Sunday in the month:- Parish Communion at Beetley
2nd Sunday in the month:- Parish Communion at East Bilney
3rd Sunday in the month:- Parish Communion at Beetley
4th Sunday in the month:- Parish Communion at East Bilney
5th Sunday in the month Benefice Communion at Hoe (Book of Common Prayer)
At all the services at Beetley and East Bilney Common Worship is used.
Charitable giving is organised through ‘pew boxes.’ At the beginning of the year the PCC chooses four charities, and members of the congregation support these through their offerings made in the pew boxes. The criteria for choosing the charities are as follows – some are local, one is always the Diocesan Lent Appeal, and the others are small or lesser known charities for whom our relatively small donations would make a big difference. Two of our forthcoming charities are Smiletrain (www.smiletrain.org ) and Elmham Surgery.(www.elmham.surgery.com
Each year a Lent group is held in the parish. This year the numbers were so large that we had to borrow the Methodist Church in Beetley.
Twice a year a leaflet is produced with the Methodist church, giving details of all services and other events.
For more information on either of the churches, or to arrange a visit, please contact one of the churchwardens.
