14th September Anniversary Organ Recital by James Parsons

14th September 2019 Anniversary Organ Recital by James Parsons

James Parsons' introductions to the music were attractive and added to the enjoyment of Fanfares, Reflections and Fantasias. From the first note of uxtehude's Toccata in F, to the last note of walton's Crown Imperial, his playing was meticulous and musical. His expertise and great use of the organ, was clear for all to see on the big screen, which enhanced the performance, and his talent was clear to hear throughout the performance. With nibbles and hot or cold drinks during the interval, it was an evening enjoyed by all. Numbers attending were possibly affected by competing with the 'Last Night of the Proms' on television, as well as celebrations for Norwich winning against Manchester City!
