8th December 2019 St Nicholas Annual Toy Service

8th December: St Nicholas Annual Toy Service on the Second Sunday of Advent.

The Service led by Lay Minister, Evelyn Speed, commenced with 2 brownies from 3rd Dereham Pack lighting the 2 candles on the Advent wreath.

Brownies led the prayers, played a game of 'Pass the Parcel', and assisted with the collection of the marvellous array of toys and gifts presented at the service.

Fleur Porter read the passage from the Gospel of Matthew.

Members of the congregation brought forward their donations, as can be seen from the wonderful array placed in front of the altar

The music and singing was led by members of St. Nicholas Music Group.

The wonderful collection of donated gifts and toys were loaded into Fred Becket's estate car, to be taken round to the Salvation Army, who will deliver them, anonimously to families 'in need', and the lonely elderly of

Dereham, in time for Christmas.
