5th June MU Quiet Day at Bilney House

5th June 2019: Bilney House: Dereham and District Mothers Union Quiet Day

Revd. Canon Richard Hanmer led the day, with an opportunity to look a little more closer at poetry. There was plenty of opportunity to contemplate Richards words and reflect on the meaning for our own lives.

It was a little earlier this year, for our visit to Bilney House, but the gardens were still beautiful

There was coffee/tea and delicious biscuits to welcome us to the day, which was hosted once more by Patricia Jeffrey. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers to show our appreciation for providing such wonderful surroundings for this annual event.

The well-tended grounds and gardens are inspirational in themselve and  such a delight to wander around, during the periods of quiet.

The day was made complete by a service of Holy Communion at Bilney Church. The sun shone, making the field opposite the church shinewith  shades of gold, and made a most appropriate illustration for Richards first poem of the day.

This event was an opportunity to 'recharge our batteries' and find peace, which is a rare opportunity in most of our busy lives.

Our thanks go to Sheila and the Committee for organising the day, Patricia for hosting the day and sharing her lovely home and gardens, and to Richard for giiving us such an inspirational day, and celbrating the Communion Service.
