28th April 2019: Farewell Service for Dominique and her family

Having spent almost 4 years as Curate with us, we said farewell to Dominique and her family, (Ed, her husband, and Ralph, her son). By the time Dominique leaves Dereham for Norwich, there will be a new sibling for Ralph, as Dominique is expecting her second baby in the next few weeks.

This was a lovely service, where Dominique was Celebrant, Canon Sally preached, Revd. Gill Wells and Revd. James Rosie participated with the readings and the Psalm of the day, and Church Warden, Sheila Hanmer, led the Intercessions. Also robed for the occasion were Revd. Jenny Taylor, Revd. Doreen Fotherby, and the Team 'Readers/Lay Ministers', Adam Pyke, Lydia Crick and Evelyn Speed.

Beverley Burton made a delicious, decorated chocolate cake, as well as a plain iced cake, with Dominique's name on, which she claimed as hers! She did share them both with those attending though! There was wine and soft drinks to wash the cake down!

There was a variety of gifts for the young family from the Benefice, including a beautifully crafted 'Noah's Ark' for Ralph to play with, which he enjoyed unwrapping with the help of his daddy.

2 cakes... 1 for us and 1 for me! Look at the joy that cakes can bring!

They did share the delicious cakes, made by Beverly Burton, which could be enjoyed with a glass of wine or a soft drink.
